This is the national directory for Freedom to Speak Up Guardians. It includes contact details for Freedom to Speak Up Guardians that have been trained by the National Guardian’s Office and have registered their details with us.

Training

Freedom to Speak Up Information Sessions

Due to restrictions resulting from the current pandemic, we are unable to offer Foundation Training at present for people wishing to take on the FTSU guardian role.

As an interim measure, we will be holding two-hour introductory sessions for those newly appointed to a speaking up role. These will cover the basic principles of the role.
Once completed, participants will be included on the Freedom to Speak Up Guardian Directory and able to share speaking up data.

These sessions do not replace Foundation Training, which should be completed at the earliest opportunity.

We are using this time to develop our training process and material to make training in the future more accessible and broad enough to meet the needs of the expanding network of organisations that are adopting Freedom to Speak Up guardian arrangements.

While we are working on this, we are also offering stepped up support for people wishing to take on the guardian role including access to a range of resources, support calls, and links to local sources of support. We are offering a 1-2-1 introductory call with a member of the team to offer support and guidance.
